Someone remind me to kick the ass of the genuis over at Microsoft that decided that "Rich text" emails that encode attachements into a single monolithic file called "winmail.dat" was "good enough" for the internet...

And then people wonder why they are not getting attachments, only a single file that say "winmail.dat"... ::rolls eyes::

Oh yeah. Did I mention that Boss prefers me to send him the "rich text" formatted emails? ::eyes rolling so fast that they make me dizzy::

I knew I had it shut off for a reason, and this luser just reminded me why...

You'd think that one day we'd get tired of complaining about Microsoft.

But no, they have a ridiculously wide (and ever-expanding) array of idiocy to be hateful about!

At least ranting about MS keeps us from getting TOO bored...

I discovered today that files made in Wordpad cannot necessarily be read by Word. Go Microsoft!

We used to keep a Mac in the Windows writing lab. It had Office 98 on it. Office 98 had the one version of Word that could open Office 97, Office 2000 and various versions of MS Works Word files. Adobe Illustrator can open all versions of Illustrator files. How come Word can't open up earlier versions of Word files? Meh.

I like it. Who else can say they look like Booger on a bad day?

You just need the "who farted" t-shirt. :)

It gets even better: Outlook Express hides the winmail.dat file, so if anyone tries to attach something to a Rich Text message, OE users don't even get an indication that anything's attached, much less the opportunity to save the winmail.dat file and run it through a decoder.
