I am going to kill somebody soon. I have been on this call for over an hour now. Not because her computer is in such horrible shape. NO, that would be to easy to fix.
She is one of those customers that doesn't tell you when she has gotten to a point you asked them to get to. She doesn't tell you when something is finished installing or whatever. I keep sitting here waiting for a response or something only to find out that we have been sitting in silence for the past 3 minutes and her computer was finished installing already!!!
I have to keep asking her questions to find out what's in front of her....what do you see.....are you a moron?
I fixed it though and quit taking crap from her and waiting for her. I just started teching everything really fast and when she said hang on a second, only then would I pause. Then pick right up again 10 seconds after her request...

i find idle chatter usually eases the tension between the customer and the tech.. it's after you start talking to them while you're waiting when you realize that they're not really stupid. i realized this after helping a well spoken doctor re-install DUN.
