You have to admit, we were a little rough. Yes this is our space and we do not want it violated by the people we have to deal with on a day to day basis, but we could have simply done two things:

1. This is not the place for your questions.

2. Ignored her from that point on.

We all make honest mistakes from time to time, even forget to read info sections for communities when we have extensive info sections on our own journals.

As far as flamings go, neither of her posts got particularly harsh responses. I might be in a permenant asbestos suit due to several years as a forum moderator, but, seriously. She got yelled at for doing something wrong. Nobody brought in her family, friends, previous postings, or twisted her words. It wasn't a flame war so bad that one party swore off the internet for two months, or was refered to as The Great Flame Of 2006.

That, and techsupport is based off of hatred for a common enemy. So when said enemy comes skipping through wearing red...

pretty much, considering no police in their right mind would allow someone's pet to be put down for something like that. it's right up there with someone coming in to steal something of mine and getting their ass kicked. sure they may -try- to sue me for it, but my lawyer would really have to be craptastic for them to win. and the general public will point and laugh at them.
