Consider the investor meeting. Consider presenting the software product, and then opening the floor for questions. Now consider hearing this one lobbed your way:

"How do you intend to compete with something like Mozilla Firefox?"

Is the proper answer:
a) ...because that's a web browser and this product isn't?
or
b) Oh, we've got that well in hand, sir. It's Jack in the Box we're really concerned with right now; we just can't match the tastiness of their milkshakes.

Of course the answer is c) What the fuck kind of stupid question is that?

I used to have hope that people could learn, and think.

Thank you for erasing this hope.

What is the software product, by the way?

"We're way ahead of you. Since Mozilla is an open source project, and open source software is the last bastion of the International Communist Conspiracy --- just ask B. Gates --- we've formed alliances with the John Birch Society, the Minutemen, and various militias in northern Idaho and Montana. Even as we speak, our allies are tracking down and, ah, eradicating code contributors, one by one.

"After code generation has ground to a standstill, we will then attach graphic tags reading 'This Image Is Hosted On ebaumsworld.com' to the browser buttons in Firefox, making the use of the browser so socially repugnant that no one will ever use it again.

"Now, is there anyone in the room whose brain is getting some air, and is NOT gonna ask rock-stupid questions?"

Hah. I like that one. With lots of arm-waving and bright wide eyes. Then after a seconds pause simply "Any other questions?" ;)

Silly investors. The real threat of course, is Google. Because eventually, Google will do EVERYTHING.
