quote from one of my favourite work orders of all time... "in room *** the way the computer has been set up makes it awkward for the faculty to use. they would like to have the computer turned to that it faces the class and they also want the wires placed out of the way so that no one hurts themselves."
solution? we walked in the room, turned the computer (which was in a cabinet ON WHEELS) about 45 degrees to face the class, and left. the wires weren't even a problem. sadly, i was the one that had to place this work order. i felt my i.q. plummet just typing it up. and these are nursing students and the people that are teaching them! imagine... our lives are in their hands!

(Disclaimer: new here, lurking and reading archives, trying to scare myself out of getting a computer technician diploma)

Do they think it's feng shui or something? Is technology really so close to magic in their minds that even moving a piece of equipment constitutes "messing with it" and should only be done by professionals?

Yeah, nursing students tend to be dumb. Look at the smokers on any college campus. They're most heavily concentrated among the nursing students.
