Ouch to the Dell Techs and Customers in Canada.

I heard today that Dell Canada has 5 techs sceduled for tomorrow (Xmas day). They've apparently closed Edmonton, Bangalore and where ever their third center is and just have the 5 techs previously mentioned at a 4th center. It's not going to be a fun day for them.

can't say for certain.. but i would believe it. i know that my call center is running at one onehundreth capacity.. and we are the only one open for a major telecom in the western part of canada. (and it is super dead)

Meanwhile, the Service Desk (dirty word...) that I work at is fully staffed. Well, sans the Manager and one of the three Supervisors. Everyone else is here.

And I work for a bookstore chain. :-p

Were you swamped?
Guess the techs I talked with were misinformed... They were still swamped though, 30 calls in the queue at times.

Fully staffed on Christmas day doesn't make sense to me, every phone queue I've worked on is dead xmas day.

You are forgetting the power of the luser.
I think they were fairly busy from the sounds of it. They said the biggest thing they heard was "I just bought this computer for my son, what do we do now?"
