I'm beginning to worry more and more about the state of humanity.

Two of yesterday's gems:

- Ok sir, can you please double-click on the cd drive... no? No icon on the desktop... ok, well, look inside 'my computer'. Do you see it there? Not sure? Oh... ok, look for an icon with a picture of a cd on it. You have two? What are they named? D and E. Charming. and on and on

- What do you mean ma'am that you can't get the usb cable out of the box? it actually took 5 min's for her to get the cable out and plugged in.

What disturbs me most is the fact that most people like that are more likely to reproduce than the intelligent ones. Stupidity must be very attractive.

Oy.

I'm sorry. I had a call a few months back where the "lady"'s manager's PC wouldn't boot up. After 45 min of troubleshootng, I was going to send a ticket up because the wiring was bad. Then I had a thought - maybe the surge protector blew!

...nope, it was plugged into itself.

Took her 5 min to find the tower, another 5 to find the power button

25 mins to explain to someone what the start button was, how to find it, and how to click on it.

they'd owned the laptop for nearly 12 months...

Where do you draw the line? I'm dialup/DSL tech support and some people end up needing full computer lessons. I've told people before that I'll put their account on hold until they go to the library or community college and take some computer classes, because I couldn't help them.
