Dear People Wot Complain About Receiving Backlogged E-Mailed Comments:

Shut up. Seriously, just shut the hell up.

You complained when you don't receive them and you complain when they start coming in. Reminds me of a gaggle of New Orleans FEMA tit-suckers (not implying that they ALL are, just that they exist).

If you can't handle getting a few old comments that by level of service LJ is supposed to send once the problem is fixed, then you have 2 options: 1) Don't have a LJ, or 2) disable the e-mailing of comments.

LERN2DELETE.

x-posted to my own journal, where it is locked because I really don't want to hear the pathetic dribble of those that inspired this post.

My sentiments exactly. The amount of people complaining about it over in support astounds me.

Too true.

Now, I understand being a bit confused by it. Even impressed. but if you're bitching about getting email cry me a river.

For that matter, we can throw into this group people who sign up for mass mailing groups and then bitch about how much mail they have.

"Seriously, guys. Can't we stop talking about this? I have 756 thousand emails in my inbox."

Whining maggot.

Well, it depends on topicfullness

I've been known to pull, "Hi, I joined this mailing list to discuss the topic. Could we at least mark off-topic conversations so I can filter..."

The only people truly affected seem to be the little emo bratz who measure their lives by how many comments they get (but won't pony up the bucks to support LJ).

If they want up-to-date comments, they can use http://www.livejournal.com/tools/recent_comments.bml

Now just shut up about it already (them, not you).

A friend of mine has made a great t-shirt. On the front it says

EMO DEATH SQUAD
Member 00000001

and on the back it says

CUT YOUR FRINGE BEFORE THE MORTICIAN HAS TO

Haha!! He should submit it to T-shirt Hell, eBay, CafePress or something.. I'd buy one!

Nah, it has to spread from him alone. Each t-shirt has to have the next member number up. I want to be member 00000002 :)

I thought of an alternate slogan on the back too:

I'LL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO CRY ABOUT

Really! I thought it was nice to finally find out what I've been missing out on. And people haven't complained about getting comments. I guess I have better friends than you! Nyah nyah!

Pretty soon lj is going to need a "don't e-mail me comments older than 14 days" option.

I keep seeing icons based on that advert. Any idea where I can download it? I want to see smurfs suffer too.

It'd be nice, but really, how often do they add features to the core anymore... :P

I'm not finding it overtly annoying.

Considering that I've been known to get upwards of 100 emails on my work account from the mail server software itself, a few backlogged emails are precisly dick.

and my client at home dumps them into a directory anyhow...
