Holy rusted metal, batman! [rant]
Nov. 29th, 2005 11:26 amI had two work orders scheduled for 9 and 10 this morning. So, traffic being what it is ( a spiteful Bastard from the lower depths of hell, if youy must know) I whipped into the office at about 8:30 doing about 55 in the parking lot and cussing a storm up. The Doom cruiser can GO! when I need it to.
I manage to get to tmy first call on time, and it turned out to be one of those under 10 minute fixes, but one that I can't do over the phone because that's how they probably screwed it up to begin with. Plus it was the phone wiring, which would have made it... interesting to try and fix without getting disco'd.
The second one is currently sitting in my office, because 1) it needs Service Pork 2, A/V, and probably another 30 MB worhth of updates from windows update. No way in fuck am I doing that over a craptastic dialup line. 2) it was still on the "free" dialup providor that we are almost done dumping. 3) the printer that I thought out there was not the one that was out there, and hence, it's penalty time. ::grr::
I really wish that my cuntsomers would, ya know, like CALL ME UP AND TELL ME THAT THEIR PRINTER IS BROKEN INSTEAD OF GOING DOWN TO KMART AND BUYING THE CHEAPEST THING THEY HAVE ON SALE. It makes it a helluva lot easier for me to troubleshoot their problem, and it makes our admin's life easier to order ink. ::grumbles::
Oh and the USB memory key that we provided them in leiu of a floppy drive is gone. Gee, no surprises there. hope nothing important was on it, like confidential consumer data... ::rolls eyes:: I did confiscate the one they had there. I'm going to see what, if anything, is on it.And it looks like I need to buy yet another USB floppy drive for them as well, seeing as they insist on using the damn things still...
