Ever have one of those days where things started out great or normal and then quickly dropped straight to hell. 'Course you have and I’m having one of those days today. EVERY call today has been incredibly stupid. Everything from install techs not knowing how to complete (or troubleshoot) their broadband and VoIP jobs to customers cursing, swearing, arguing and hanging up on me. I’ve even had a record # of customer not able to figure out what a power cord is or how to connect it. It’s almost like there is an epidemic of stupid and I’m not talking about our normal stupid. The highlight of my day so far is a customer who got home networking services installed 2 weeks ago calling for the 1st time complaining that her pc will not boot from the garage. She claims it does just fine in the house. Me, thinking she meant connect and said boot soon realized that she did in fact mean the later. Her computer for some reason will not power on from the garage. She refuses to accept the fact that Crappy Cable cannot address that issue and after screaming for a tech to come out for about 10 minutes she finally hung up on me. It’s been so bad today and my nerves are so much on edge that I’m going to avoid completing the comic I’m currently working on. It’ll be too easy for me to make a careless slip up in my current condition. Instead I’ll just start penciling the next one. xposted to my LJ.

I hate to say it but (for those who follow astrology) epidemic of stupid is correct. Mercury went retrograde this week. It governs computers & communications. three more weeks of this.

Two words, then a few more.

Full Moon

was two days ago and I am still reeling from the stupidity.

I wonder if there are any ISPs out there who send people stickers or paper hanging things for PCs which state who to call for various problems.

Oh wait, that would mean the user would have to be able to determine what's wrong with the PC first, rather than just dialling randomly and bellowing "IT DUN WORK!" down the line.
