A while later we found out, he actually DID burn the .iso file to the CD.

I don't get it. Did he burn it as a datafile, or is there some other joke that I'm missing?

An ISO file contains files inside the ISO file. He need to write the ISO to an CD, so it will boot up corerectly.

But what he did was to ADD the iso file to the CD, which doesn't work.

oh, I get it. Which is why there's a different method of burning an iso file than regular date. makes sense now. I guess it's always just worked for me (though admittedly, I did some reasearch for proper commands before i did it).

Well, technically, the customer did what he was told. He burned the .ISO to a CD, as asked of him. Just because he didn't create a bootable CD from the .ISO...

Symnatics, sure, but when working with the stupid, we all know they will take you as litterally as humanly possible.

Hey, a lot of people wouldn't know what a .iso file was without an explanation. I think I made that mistake the first time I dealt with one too.

That's a very easy and common mistake to make. I wouldn't expect a non-geek to get it right without detailed instructions specific to their burning software.

Really common mistake...

I'd blame the instructions if one of our customers did that ;P
