Old People Wanting to use a computer...

F* you.

F* you! That's all I have to say.

Yeah, you're old and I'll admit you might be trying to stay hip and get into the technology world, but don't. DON'T. I hate you, and your too old to be using the s*t. Go die or something.

If you do happen to be a old person who "gets it" then by all means congratulations. I applaud you. I'll give you credit where credit is due.

Now, why all the rant? Let me tell you now:

I had a lady (who was probably 190 years old) just decided she was going to call up and register her modem today. Ok, no problem. There are 4 credentials we need to register a cable modem on our system. Make, model, Serial #, and MAC address. She noted that it was a cable modem and she got it from her son. OK, here we go!

Me: "Ok, so who makes the modem."
Cust: "It's a gray modem, it doesn't have any lights."
Me: "Ok, we'll worry about the lights later, but does it identify who makes it. Such as Linksys, D-Link, Motorola, Toshiba, etc?"
Cust: "It says NEC, and F/c"
Me: "I don't think that NEC makes cable modems. *checks website* Nope. They don't."

** This persists on for about 10 minutes what the mystery device could be, why you need a MAC address and the what not. She couldn't find any of it. **

Me: "This is not a cable modem. It can't be if there is not a MAC address on the device itself."
Cust: Well, get me over to customer care so I can cancel my service until I can get this straightened out."
Me: "Sure, just a second."

Yes, please...go bother someone else. Your too old to understand this s*t. You'd be like most old people forwarding spam and downloading those viruses because you don't know what they are.

Oh, look at this funny joke, isn't it fun to send you spam and viruses?

Oh, this days gets better and better. This guy has been bitching for 1/2 about his computer. He's old as my last caller. Here's an idea, stop downloading the spyware/weather/virus s*t!!!

*dies*

I need a drink, but can't. I'm only 20!

You can't? What a cruddy country you live in. Here it's 18 for beer, wine and stuff up to 20%, and 20 for the rest... and they might be lowering that to 18, too.

Self-censoring. :(

Quit complaining. You get taxed as soon as you start working (was 15 for me) and you can't vote until, what, 18? That's taxation without representation. HAHAHAHA OH SO FUNNY.

Piss on that! Down here, 18 for everything.

14-16 (state changes) in the presence of adults. But you can't buy your own until you're 18.

18 for beer, 18 for license, 18 for porn.....what could possibly go wrong?

Oh yeah, and 17 for license in NSW, and most states. :)

Here's the way I look at it:

You (the general you, not specifically "you") made it 70/80/90/whatever years without a computer, why do you need one now?!? Just use something you know how to use... you know, like a pen and paper... or a horse.

Praise Australia and it's drinking age of 18.
It came in very handy. I don't think I'd have been able to hold out until turning 21 two months ago to drink.
Y'know, funnily enough, two years of pretty heavy drinking has put me off it for now.

Bah, you're just living in the wrong state. Move to somewhere that borders the Misouri River and you can drink on the "don't get caught" system, and we can start driving at 14.....

If you want to really legally drink the magical juice under the age of 21. Join the armed forces. =You can then drink on base. Although, being screamed at by some guy who has had WAY too much caffiene and protien shakes at 4am after passing out at 2am isnt my idea of a good time. Still..
