On setting up a new laptop for a client

Me: Go ahead and open PDP* and verify that you see your call information as you expect to see it.
Client: Do I use the same password I've been using?
Me: That program no longer uses a password, sir.
Client: We're talking about Proprietary Database Program, right?
Me: Yes, sir. It doesn't use a password. It hasn't for months.
Client: Are you sure?
Me: (will you just fucking log on already?) Yes, I'm sure.
Client: This isn't going to mess up my data?
Me: No. Sir. Please. Log. On.
Client: Wow! I didn't have to use a password!

Every time you make me repeat myself I want to help you less. If you didn't hear me once, fine. Twice, I'll deal with it. Three times, call a relay service.

If you're just making me repeat myself because you doubt the veracity of the data I am providing, you have just relinquished any rights to customer service and will receive only technical support, with the least effort put into making you not feel stupid.

So ends the lesson.
