The official name for the next version of Microsoft Windows is... Vista.

Not exactly catchy is it?

"So are you having crashes in 3.1, 95, 98, ME, NT, XP... or Vista?"

Don't worry, you'll be used to it after the first shift.

Maybe they're hoping that users will mistake the blue screen of death for a nice summer's day...

Awe. Thanks for leaving out Windows for Workgroups 3.11, Windows NT 3.51 (Daytona), 4.0 (Cairo), Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 and Media Center 2004/2005 editions. Oooh Ooh Ooh! And don't forget those 4 Compaq PCs sold back in '94 with Microsoft Bob pre-installed!
Yeah, I guess my long and bitter history of doing support work really shows.

*ugh*. Vista. Rhymes with "Fist-ya".

I had gotten used to Longhorn.

My main problem is what can you shorten it down to?

Longhorn is too long and dorky a name.

But you can make better jokes with it.

Athough, "fist ya"! Good effort!

I figure it'll just get shortened to "WinVI" - similar to how Windows XP was supposed to stand for "Windows eXPerience"...

*cringe* I liked Longhorn better. I was waiting to see if there was a perprogrammed desktop of a steer releiving himself. tee-hee.

How much can we all bet that our L-users *my desk* will all decide to download this beta version all by themselves now?

That's it!
