Heard from my co-irker in the next cube over:

"Yeah, well, you have to power cycle the internet when that happens."

I try to tune out what most noobs say, I've learned it helps save what shreds of sanity are left.

Imagine what incredible power would be unleashed if we could actually do that! All corrupted HTML and stuff would be gone! I'm sure of it!

I wish it worked that way, actually it would just corrupt all the data out there already.

Boo. Are you saying power cycling won't automagically fix all problems? :(

maybe he/she just got tired of trying to distinguish between "modem", "computer", and "application"; Just list 'em all as "internet" and provide a step-by-step as to how to powercycle the "internet." Of course, this doesn't help the next lucky winner to receive a phone call from this putz.

Well, I've said a lot of stupid things in my years of working tech support. Then again, sometimes that's the only way to get the problem solved. After all, you have to speak to the customer in a way they can understand.
