Cust: "Hi, I want to connect two computers at once to my modem."
Paco: "Which model do you have?"
Cust: "I dunno, I'm at work."
Paco: "Oh. Well, ok, we can..."
Cust: "I don't know all that stuff, I'm a woman! *giggle*" <--- Yes, she actually said that and giggled.
Paco: "I'm sorry, that excuse doesn't work on someone raised with 20-some years of womens rights movement." <-- Yes, I actually said this.

The rest of the rant that immediately followed closing that call remains on my journal, since it's more than a little... Pacoish.

Suffice to say I'm a strong believer in womens rights, and with that, womens responsibilities.

Like how I'm SO glad to be out of tech support (handed in my badge yesterday! Hoo-hah! Now a Sys Admin - this might be a worse job at time in the long run, we'll find out, heh) because sometimes, the women could be worse than the men on the whole 'Women don't know about technical stuff'. Ugh.


I did, once, like the time a woman was very happy with me for being female and knowing what I was talking about.

I think the most frightening moment of my life was being on a plane with a woman pilot. Not because she was a woman, but because of the giggle at the end of her announcements.
