Just a little thing that bugs me.



Dear Customer,

When you call me to get your IP address, a list of email addresses you have, a dialup number in Fuckahoochie, Wyoming, and I start to tell you, PLEASE don't stop me and say you have to find a pencil. You called me with the knowledge that you would have to write down something.

My favorite is when they call in stating the most generic of problems and when asked for the exact error message, you get "Hold on, let's see..."

My customers say, "Uhhh, it just said it didn't go through."

Many places have that on the IVR - such gems for the clueless as "be ready to write information down" and "if you are getting an error message, please have the exact message as it appears on your screen ready for the technician".

However, I've also found that the places that have it... have users that ignore it. Dumbshits.

Yeah, Forget error messages. People ignore the message in our queue that says, "Please make sure that you are in front of your computer, and that the computer is turned on."

Couldn't they open up Notepad and type it on the computer?

I suggested that to someone once and they thought it was the greatest idea ever. WTF?! I'm guessing they only use the computer for the internet and no other program.

Haha. If only that were an excuse. With us, if you're on hold more than five minutes, we're busy.
