(she comes back, explains problem)
Me: What operating system are you using?
Her: Like NT? 2000?
Me: Well, NT, 2000, 98, 95...
Her: Oh. It's Windows NT 2000.
Me: (so not in the mood for this) Is it NT or 2000?
Her: NT, so I guess Windows 95 then.

Heh, what about the ones that say they have windows, but can't find My Computer or the Start button...but amazingly enough, there's some options on the top of the screen...like an apple on the left! :P

I love them. Or the ones that do have a Start button, but insist they don't. Then, when they finally find it, they just admit they NEVER NOTICED BEFORE that it says Start!

If you adjust it for small text and icons on the start menu, it also shows nothing regardless of the OS... so you still can't be sure it's XP...

Usually they'd say nothing was there. Then I would connect to their computer and show them that there was. People are so blind.

The last time somebody tried that on me, they got hung up on. I have better things to do than listen to someone else's hold!

Just as bizarre, is every so often we will get voicemail messages of hold music.

I do internal tech support so I'm employed at the same company my callers are employed at (although they think we are outsourced and therefore abusable--whatever). We hold if they say we hold, at our discretion. I figured sitting on hold was better than whatever calls might be waiting for me. *surf* *email* *surf* ;)

I *am* yer first level agent. And I will never get out. I have just recently proven that by getting a master's degree and still being stuck here. FIRST TIER BABY! w00t I am now considering getting my doctorate so that I can have people call me Dr. Megan on the phone, especially when they insist on calling me my first name and insist on me calling them MISTER Smith.
