If you decide to build a computer yourself, RTFM. When you install the Socket 754 processor backwards and bend some of the pins, your computer will not work. When I call and tell you that you need a new processor because attempting to fix said bent pins will only result in them breaking clean off, please accept this as your expensive lesson of the day. Thank you.

What, you mean you CAN'T straighten bent pins on a processor!?!?!? *GASP* I didn't think it was THAT sensitive!! ;) I should talk though. Once bent some of the pins in an HDD's IDE connection. ME = FAIL. Eventually got it to work, but only long enough to get the data off. I blame the crapilly constructed IDE to USB2 adapter I was tooling with at the time. Yeah, there I go. Blame the equipment, not the user. *whistles innocently*

you can bend them back, its just they are very likely to break, also, you can bugger them with static while you do it

You can typically try, yes. But this wasn't just a bent pin, it was a full 180 degree fold.
