Where I work, our software is used primarily in the entertainment industry and we're a small second tier team. ONE of my coworkers is like, starstruck, a real name-dropper and celebrity hound, and every time she gets to talk to someone she thinks is important, she struts around. Even if it's someone who has like so-what crappy credits on IMDB. This isn't a stupid user post. This is me getting it off my chest, because like, I don't care who it is, like, I talked to Will Ferrell one day, like whatever. They're just users. BFD. At the end of the day they eat, shit, and call tech support to ask stupid questions just like the rest of us. And their questions are sometimes worse than stupid, because some of these people think they are too important to RTFM. Anyhow, she annoys the piss out of me. She's really a pain in the ass. I'm only barely scratching the surface of it. But I feel better after venting. Thank you all for listening.

Yeah, I can understand that.

We "happened" to see two of the local news anchors when we were shopping one night. We decided to leave them the hell alone, simply because they are people too.

'zactly. One of the long-term newsreaders for the state news channel moved in across from my parents a couple of years back, and I hear she's a nice ol' vaguely grandmothery type with a little mini-dachshund type of dog. She doesn't get recognized in the street because her starched-n-suited in-studio TV-makeup look is worlds away from her walking-the-dog-in-sweats-and-sneakers real-life appearance.

When I worked at a grocery store, years ago, I had one of the local news achors come through my line, too. Recognized her totally -- she was clearly fresh off of work, in full makeup. Didn't say a word, just smiled and checked her out.

My brother's had Dusty Hill and his wife come into his store more than once. He didn't recognize him at first -- he just saw a guy in ratty clothes getting out of a Mercedes! His business partner told him who it was though, and they just made no big deal except to be very nice and encourage them to spend money :)

Yeah, really, they're just customers who want to shop too. Dusty Hill of ZZ Top and his wife used to come into my brothers store frequently (and possibly still do.) They treat them well, but really make no big deal about it. After all, they want them to spend money...
