About priorities
Apr. 23rd, 2005 11:02 amFirst I get a call about network failure in our R&D department. Actually I expected it because network there is really really bad and should have been replaced a couple of years ago. Anyway it is very nasty because replacing the main cable is going to take time and R&D need communications as soon as possible unless we want to blew a few international contracts.
Then I get another call from an accountant complaining me that her mouse wheel doesn't work in her new program. I tell her I will look into her issue a bit later.
A ten minutes later I am called by chief executive himself. I know what he is going to say. He is about to rain death on my ass unless R&В get their communications back until lunch. I prepare to explain him that if you want something reliable you should not build it from second-hand trash and such. So I pick up the receiver and he gives me hell about the mouse wheel.

Sheesh.
