Found and downloaded ad-aware. It found tons more in the registry and other places.

Deleted it.
Rebooted machine
Still had pop ups not a half hour later.

I guess I get to reimage the machine. DAMN IT!!!

make sure you are using version 5.83 of adaware and the refile says 042-24.09.2002 in the lower left hand corner

Yes, and it never hurts to run it in Safe Mode -- there will be less services running, and programs with virus-scanning-like activity have problems removing and/or cleaning files that are part of an actively running service.

normally no need for safe mode though as the first wipe kills the load commands and registry entries and then after reboot the 2nd wipe kills the rest, including the dll's

You might want to try the program called "Spybot: Search and destroy". I've noticed a lot of things that Spybot caught, that adaware did even notice.

You can get it at download.com. Just search for spybot.

we just uploaded it onto the base network (about 1200+ systesm) so far the people who have been working on it haven't been able to get it to run correctly, it starts... and starts....

and thats about it...

Spybot search and destroy caught bonzi buddy that adware couldn't remove on my machine and got rid of it. So i would recomend it.
