BonziBuddy Help

Hello all,

I have had a customer install BonziBuddy and I am having a dickens of a time uninstalling it. I had to reinstall it, uninstall it. Search for any lingering folders, delete those. Searched the registry, found a million keys refering to BonziBuddy, deleted those. Restarted the machine. Customer is still getting pop up adds and she doesn't even have a browser open.

Anyone have any experience with this? Or any ideas on it?

There use to be a great program called "Ad-aware" that would do a complete search for spyware on a pc, and then delete it. Sadly, the quit updating the program. If you can find a copy (check downloads.com) try that.

From what I have heard, you might as well do a Hard Disk Restore on it... once that thing gets it claws in your system, it doesn't come out.

Nah, she just needs to use adaware from www.lavasoftusa.com and it'll strip it right outta there, registry and all.

Go to www.lavasoftusa.com and download adaware and refupdate. Make sure that the refupdate is pointing to the adaware directory and use it first to update the dat file, then run adaware. It may take a reboot and rescan to fully clean. Just keep running adaware till it shows clean and dump the IE cahce ahead of time, will speed up the scan.
