Mar. 17th, 2005 11:02 amJust found this on a fresh ticket from our customer service department :
Fault details : Comp recognises that the line connects but they have no homepage. she needs to have a homepage set-up as there is no homepage to connect to so it is trying to connect to the internet but there is receiving information.
Come again?
Edit : Turns out her LAN connection was disabled so it couldn't obtain an IP from her router. Not too difficult.

Date: 2005-03-17 05:33 pm (UTC)This will ~sometimes~ turn an request to elaborate a "nothing works! I just wanna get e-mail!" into an "The arrow don't move when I move the mouse".
More often than not though, they would usually say something really stupid like "when i click on get mail nothing happens!"
Yeah, I think i'm a damn good troubleshooter, but I seriously doubt my mind is capable of making a quick leap from something like that to a potentially defective mouse.
People, i don't CARE if it's e-mail you want to get, i couldn't care less if you want to open a porn website, if your frigging mouse isn't responding, THEN SAY THAT!
But of course, that would make sense wouldn't it?
