1) Move the couch form the breakout area (the tiny bit of spare space behind the photocopiers) to the space between the two front desks near the Telly.

2) Heat one entire block of Lindt Dark 70% (1 min 20 in the microwave, stir lightly) until molten.

3) Pull out the strawberries and the apple you brought in, and the bottle of botrytis semillon (non alcoholic, of course *noddle*)

4) Make sure the chicken casserole and the rice are ready in the kitchen too.

5) Fire up the cool documentaries on the cable telly.

6) Sit back with your co-worker and enjoy.

How to spoil the above:

Customer calls.

Thinking of this makes me all the more jealous of our graveyard shift.

All they do? Answer emails.
No calls. Just emails.
Which apparantly take like, an hour at most, then a bit now and again through the night.

I spent a hell of a long time on grave shifts. Usually it was a case of punctuated disasters. That is, I'd spend hours with nothin' to do and 10 minutes every shift runnin' 'round like a headless chicken. Weird hours too. Show up at 8:00 pm Friday, leave at 9:00 am saturday. Friday night through Monday morning. "Worked" 36 hours, got paid for 40. Yeah my weekends were shot, but I had 5 days a week to myself.

Since I was the only one there, I spent a hell of a lot of time playing video games and watching bootleg movies. Man, those were the days. :)
