hehehe... the other day I took someone through a powercycle/reboot. winxp. I had to reassure him at each stage of bootup that yes, the computer was supposed to do that now. Yes, it is supposed to make the start up sound. Yes, It's ok that the window's icon disappeared and the desktop came back. Thank god that was all it took to fix it. I don't think I could have dealt wiht checking ip etc.
