Meant to do this a bit back...
Jan. 25th, 2005 05:37 pmSo, Friday...
I get this call from a guy (paraphrased, as it's been a couple of days):
Me: Thank you for calling technical support, can I get the 10-digit telephone number that Zoomtown is installed on, starting with area code?
Cust: They didn't give me a number.
Me: Well, what's your home phone number?
Cust: I don't have one. Here's my cell #... *rattles it off*
Me: *keying it in and wondering WTF this guy is smoking* Sir... our service runs through a phone line, you need a number.
Cust: I don't have one. Look, they told me what my IP information is, since I ordered static.
Me: *ohman... coworker suggests I try by his email address, as every account gets one* Sir, did they give you your email address with us?
Cust: No, they didn't, but I have my own - - does that work?
Me: No, I needed one of ours... ah, you said they gave you the IP information? Could you give me that?
Cust: *rattles off this story about how they called while he was in the car, blahblah, but he did get the IP* ... *beeping, and so on* Uh, it's in my cellphone, I'll have to call back.
Me: Okay, here's your ticket number *number*. Refer to that when you call back. Thank you for calling... *blahblah*
There was a lot more back and forth about the phone number there, but... anyway. As soon as I got off the phone, I went on break (because due to our "smart" phone system, when he called back, he'd get me) and spoke with a sup about it, who said if he calls back, to send him up to the next level.
I've kept the ticket# so I can look back on it and find out what was up.
