"Can you go talk to D.? He needs to get into B.'s email and the password isn't working."

"Why's he need to do that?"

"B. left the company. Now we can't get into his MSNmail."

"MSNmail...? I don't think I can help with that. I can't reset their passwords...."

"Just talk to him."

"Ohhhhhkay."
......

Solved the problem by closing Internet Explorer (on the .NET passport login page) and opening Outlook Express.

It's like they jsut have one big bucket in their head and EVERYTHING they hear about "The Internet" just gets dumped in a big heap. "Email? Oh you mean MSN! But that's just a web page, it's not "On The Net". That interweb thing's pretty cool, huh? Holy crap, I COULD KEEP RECIPES ON HERE!!!"

GRAH!

OH do I ever feel your pain. Why are tech support clients always so technologically useless? (I recently loaned a friend my ethernet cord so she could check whether her wall jack was working. In her confusion about how to *use a plug*, she snapped the connectors off both ends. RAR!)

One woman was pissed at us because we changed our home page and she couldn't get on the internet.

"Ma'am that's just a home page, you can still surf to other pages."

"I can?"

"Yes. That page doesn't get you ON the internet. It's just a page ON the internet and you can surf to other pages."

She wasn't using her connection for 3 months because our homepage changed.

I was hoping she wasn't going to ask for a credit on her account because I don't think we can give one for stupidity.

At one period, it felt like we were changing our homepage every month, and we got that same complaint.

People who only used our webpage, and that was it, and we don't even have added content!

one guy was going to cancel his service because he didn't want to customize the new page we had to add the business links from the old page.

he said that he just wanted to "click the links and get the content and not do anything else."

I said that he could save them to his favorites in IE and he said, "Well THAT would be easy for YOU to do but for ME, I shouldn't have to do THAT! THAT'S what I'm paying YOU for." O_o

CAncelling a service because the home page changed? That deserves a WTF?

Another old, arrogant fuck I had to deal with who only used the internet to check his portfolio online. The links were all business links and stock links.

Haha same complaints here. At one point we had a collaboration going with Yahoo! for our homepage, so all your standard business links etc were on the main page.

We stopped doing that, and focused more on our products and they were all up in arms. We explained to just go to Yahoo, but no that's too hard.

I changed one guys homepage to Yahoo, but even then he was confused because it wasn't branded with our ISP's name.
