Hello! first time posting... a little background: I work for an outsourced helpdesk for a life insurance company.

This morning, I am about to scream at one of my coworkers.

One of the offices is being renovated, and the users are getting moved from one floor to another while their floor is being worked on. With this, all their printers, faxes, everything is also moved.

One of my coworkers consistently puts "Mooved" instead of "moved" in the ticket description. always capitalized, always with 2 o's. Once is accident, six times is ignorance. I tried to gently point it out, and that didn't fly.

Is this picky and petty on my part? Probably, but the man is in his late 60's, fairly well educated and should know better!

Ok. I'm done now.

Maybe he thinks it's funny.

Why are you so Mooved about it? I mean, it's not like Mooving these machines is any different. It could be worse. They might have been Mooved to an office across town, instead of one floor... You'd have to get a Mooving van, or maybe some help from professional Moovers.

I want steak for dinner, suddenly...

Smile. It's Friday. Sort of. :-)

It bugs me to no end when people do things like that. Spelling and grammar are not frivolous little games for schoolkids. I don't care how cute they think they are by playing stupid. It makes them look like idiots. Nitpicky? Probably. But it's only getting worse.

Hence the reason I ignore people who IM me with "hi how ru???/??//"

Either they give up and go away, or get a quick lesson from somewhere in proper spelling and grammar. :-)

Me too. We used to have a tech (who later got laid off) who considered capitalization and punctuation optional. I used to replu to his emails with 'Repeat that in English?'

My users get copies of all tickets, too.

Could be how his brain is wired. He might be used to writing things out phonetically, and that's how "move" is spelled in that manner. (the o sounds is phonetically two os, so it would be spelled moove.)

But yeah, it gets annoying after a while.

What, nobody's linked The Chronicles of George (http://chroniclesofgeorge.nanc.com/) yet? Talk about cow-orkers with chronic spelling problems...

On that note, am I the only person that learned to spell "lose" as l-o-s-e?

WTF "loose" is the opposite of "tight", and I refuse to believe that "loosing" is a word.
