I sent this via our Help Desk internal chat:

"Know when you've been on a call too long? When you type the word "submit" in your trouble call work log and you actually type 'sumbitch.'"

i've been looking into getting a blackberry 7510 for work, to replace a pager.. oddly enough, it's cheaper per month.

but everytime i type the word blackberry, i have to correct my first spelling.. blackbeery.

Ugh, at our workplace, there are two main ways to tell

1) you've been on an inetwiz call too long when the log system (which has an idle time out of 45 mins) LOGS YOU OUT

2) You've clocked the phone system.

Our phone system at work has a two digit timer. Why, I don't know, no one in management or on the desk gives a flying shit about call time.

I've clocked it three times. Twice on one call (yes, that's right, internet helpdesk, call length of 3.3 hours) All because a coworker had completely fucked up her modem, LAN and therefore home office, and I was being nice and fixing it.

This woman was a dream. Absolute dream. No questions, no hesistation, I told her to do something and BAM it was done. She was familiar as hell with computers, just not with advanced networking. It was a pleasure to work with her. But it still. Took. Three. Hours.

After the call, I slammed my headset on the desk, said in a deadly venemous voice "Where is he." and got up - and all along the podling row there was a parting of the waves as techs scrambled to get out of my way (note: I'm a slight female. Not really threatening.)

Luckily for him the coworker in question didn't have a shift that intersected with mine for the next week...
