Manager: Chris just said that eligibility processed statewide in one minute.
Me: Successfully?
Manager: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Guess they shouldn't have waited until the absolute last minute to fix stuff...so last minute we couldn't test it.

not a clue, but considering how screwed up the voting system is in the US, i'm wondering if he works for a company that does that sort of work...

Didja hear about that group registering people to vote that was caught ripping up democrat's registration papers? You gotta love the mindset of the republicans. Patriotism means the death of democracy apparently.

glad that can't happen in my country.. they take voting records from the census, and if we manage to get missed by that, i can even vote the same day by showing id proving i live in the right district.

No different from the dem-affiliated group that got caught paying a guy for fake voter registrations in Crack cocaine.

They did what?

Having read the articles I could find on the subject, it appears this was the result of Crackhead A hiring Crackhead B to do legitimate work, slbeit for Crack in lieu of cash, then Crackhead B does the work fraudulently and both Crackheads are found out and go to jail.

Two people, one well-meaning idiot and one desperate junkie. Not a large group of people in a concerted effort to divert democracy from its course.

Somewhat different, yes.

Except that the numbers where about the same for affected voters (Since it was only a couple of people doing theregistration destruction as well). And the umbrella group for the Dem effort has not disavowed the person caught providing the crack, but actually somewhat defended her.

Well no... The number 100 is mentioned in both stories. In the story concerning registrations being ripped up, they were forms that had been filled out by actual voters. The other story mentions 100 false registrations, ie those people never existed.

It wasn't "only a couple of people doing the ..destruction" as you so funkily put it, it was the managers of the registration program who were ripping up the registrations.

This is all irrelevant to the point I originally made of course.

/does the destruction

Still just a couple of people, managers or not.

And want to bet that those 100 fake voters would have voted?

Frankly, when it comes to Vote Fraud, the Dems are much worse off than the 'Pubs (Even if the Republican hands aren't clean). Chicago's graveyards alone have made the difference in at least one election (Kennedy/Nixon in '60).

It was a couple of people, in that state, at that time. Reports have been heard of similar issues in other states, with the same group. It was a few hundred registrations, at that one time. Want to bet they weren't coincidentally caught on the same day they started doing it?

Florida, 2000. Irrelevant case closed.

Florida 2000, Gore attempts to steal election, fails. Would have failed even if he succeeded since according to the NYT, Bush would still have won.

That's despite Florida's Dems illegally fixing things so that released Felons could vote.

Which proves my point.

Note that the bit about roadblocks preventing balck voters from voting has been proven false. It was one speedtrap that stopped a grand total of 3 black voters, and even then, only delayed them.

There is a wealth of information on the web and other sources showing that members of Bush's campaign party were directly involved in ensuring that people with similar names, similar birthdates and similar addresses to known felons were stopped from voting. In black areas.

Black people.

I didn't hear anything about roadblocks, I guess all the legitimate news kind of overshadowed it. Spin it however you want pal, you've obviously made your mind up so any facts won't make a difference, but Gore got more votes than Bush. I really don't give a shit what the New York Times says, because you can read the numbers yourself by applying for the the records from Florida's local municipal offices. I'm pretty sure that's all available on the net too.

You're obviously a believer. When you start believing you stop thinking.

This last post of yours shows such an ignorance of facts and a dearth of morality that I no longer wish to discuss this with you.

Actually, nobody on the Felons list was prevented from voting because of that issue. There were 32,000 names on the list, a number of them were erroneous (Generally due to name confusion) so the entire list got tossed.

The biggest actual problem in the Florida election was the voting machine issue, which was restricted to several Democratic-controlled counties which had cheaped out on their voting machines. And the Ballot was designed and approved by Democrats. That's entirely seperate from the Diebold clusterfuck that's coming in the current election (Which is almost entirely the Republican's fault, why you yanks can't use simply ballots like we do up here, without the silly machines escapes me).

And if you think that actually paying attention to the facts rather than drinkin MoveOn's Kool-Aid is ignorance and a dearth of Morality, you really have additional issues.

Good Night.

Oh, as a note, Gore getting more votes nationwide (He got less in Florida, as per the Recounts done by the NYT and CNN after the controversial SC decision to end the recounts. The only standard that gave Gore a win required all the hanging chads AND all Buchanon votes to go to Gore).

As to the Nationwide vote, well, That's how teh Electoral College works, deal.

And I'm in Canada. While we argue American Politics.

Ironically, I have a passing aquaintance with one of the people who was an expert witness for Gore with the Florida SC, Dr. Brad Delong. Good guy, even if I don't believe his numbers
