Anyone know why a db25 SCSI card would refuse to detect under 2k SP4?

*ponders*

i wouldn't have thought that drivers would be an issue, 2k having drivers for almost everything. maybe a dodgy card?

SCSI cards are generally two-chicken devices.

It is not detected _at all_?

If so then it is definite hardware problem. Faulty card, bad/misconfigured controller or bad connection.

adaptec card?

adaptec is well known for not creating drivers for their older equpiment, forcing people to upgrade.

seems that the really old cards get supported, the really new cards, and most of their RAID stuff is only supported for one version of windows before they dump it..
got burned on an aaa-131, and burned on another card i bought.

won't be buying adaptec next time, that's for sure.

ah yes.. drivers and hardware that doesn't work when it IS supported :)

they're almost as bad as highpoint.

I'll probably put 4 raptors on a pair of raid1's off a 3ware 9500S, when it comes time to replace the 4 Cheetah x15-36lp's that is in the server now.

at least put it into the recycling place, dont throw it out.

FYI: If you find the NT drivers give it at try, sometimes those work.
