techrecoveryI work for a public library doing technical support. All the patrons who live in Suffolk County on Long Island, NY can sign up for SuffolkWeb which is a free dial-up connection to the Internet. It sucks and what sucks even more is that a part of my job is to make sure that our patrons can connect to it.
Me: Hello, this is the tech from the library. May I speak with M?
M: This is M.
Me: I'm returning your call regarding your SuffolkWeb connection problem. I've researched your error message and ---
M: Oh, that. We don't need you anymore.
Me: *stammering* Pardon?
M: We don't need you. The phone company did work on our phone line and it's all fixed now. *click*
