Got a machine in that was running "a little slow"
13 GB HD, 500 MB free, 3.5 GB in \windows\temp, and more fragmented than the Genesis probe.
Not to mention it was buried in a nest of dust bunnies...with big pointy teeth!
Been defragging on a Diskeeper workstation for 3 hours now. It just hit 25%.
I wonder if these people change the oil in their cars. I'm amazed they haven't left Engine Bits™ in our parking lot.

Date: 2004-09-09 03:00 pm (UTC)Maybe computer manufacturers should start doing something like that. "Every 50 hours bring the PC in for inspection if you fall under the severe maintenance schedule (On the internet a lot and downloading everything under the sun) every 75 hours if you fall under the light maint schedule"
How different is it from people either not knowing how to, not having a place to or not knowing how to do their own car maintenance and instead opting to pay a dealership to do the routine maintenance?
*shrugs* Random thought from me that this post generated.
