Today (yesterday actually) was my birthday, and I had an excellent day at work, staring off with solving a rather nasty Installshield bug over the phone. I'm amazed, some users are competent enough to follow along editing the registry! Scored two new customers and helped a couple others with the usual network/internet issues, AKA they needed a thick crust of spyware scrubbed off their machines.

Had a nice dinner, came home, got a workout, sat down at my perfectly tuned and well-behaved computer...

...yeah right...

...only to discover my LiveUpdate has been broken and ignoring new virusdefs for a freakin' MONTH.

When Norton breaks, it doesn't do things by half.

Some time ago I had major problems that were only solvable by a complete reinstall (since I don't know where they hide the install date).

followed quickly by the next customer who has McAfee, and going through MSConfig b/c their computer is running slow and finding EIGHT things that start with Mc in their startup..

wtf is McMnhndlr and why does it sound like McManHandler?

AVG never has that problem (not Pro anyway).
