I'm the assistant supervisor (glorified shift lead) for a small, small rinky dink ISP. Our realm of support is very basic....

On of our Customer Service Representatives just asked for some advice....

Rep: What would you recommend when they get the BSOD when trying to connect?
me: Customer calls a local tech to check out their system
Rep: That's the tech on the phone.
me. Call a better tech.

Getting a BSOD on connect is obviously an O/S Problem am I wrong?

Particularly since it's a "Small Rinky Dink" ISP I'd assume you're using nothing but the built in Windows Dial Up Networking to connect. :p

Absolutly right, call a better tech.

I have seen computers do that before and reinstalling all the network stuff and reinstalling DUN has fixed it.

Then again the last time was with Win98 and it was 5 years ago.
