oooooOOOOOOOohhhhh, well that's the only other thing you COULD have been asking about.
i suggest pillaging around the office. executive have a cd or dvd burner he's not using? you can take that apart and use the laser assembly in there for the main "guts" of the mouse. if anyone uses some of those throwaway tupperware things for their lunch, you can use that for the body.
I'm fond of Logitech mice. I have a basic wheel one at work, and the fancier dual-sensor one at home. The one with the two sensors home is extremely comfortable -- a bit pricier than some, but the shape fits my long hands well.
Get the same again. MS mice are the best out there, I won't use anything else. I'm currently using the wireless Intellimouse Explorer on my laptop...it rocks. Even the battery life is exceptional - I've only had to change them once since Christmas (about three weeks ago), and it's in use at least 6 hours every single day.
Believe it or not, I have a logitech wireless mouse and keyboard combo and haven't changed the batteries after 2 YEARS!!! I use my computer extensively too, so I am very happy with this combo.
I'm a fan of the Logitech Mice... I have 2 of the basic "Wheel Mice" (1 optical and 1 of the old "ball" mice) and one of the fancy cordless mice (it says MX 700 on the bottom, was part of a keyboard/mouse package) and let me tell you, they're the best mice I've used. So much better than the Intellimice that my brother (one of the ultra fancy ones) and mom (one of the basic, white ones (looks like an OEM mouse)) have.
I had one die on me. Turned out that one of the wires inside the cable broke (probably where it exits the body of the mouse). The solution was to cut out a chunk of the cable (about where it kinks sharply) and solder the two ends together. Wrapped each wire and then the whole thing in electrical tape, and stuffed it back into the case. Works fine now.
If you want, I'll upload a pic of the inside so you can see what I mean.
the 700 comes with recahrgeable and the head unit is a fast charger. it can go for about 3 days near constant use (9 hrs at a strech tested on the constant surfing by a callcenter geek) i love it. no stutter and no lag.
only downside for some is its heavier than most other mice i have used. i for one like that but others mioght not.
I'm a Logitech fan msyelf, but I am seriously considering switching to Nyko's Air Flow Mouse (http://www.firebox.com/?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=806). The Air Flo air-cooling is just a gimmick, but the 850dpi resolution sounds very inviting.
yeah I can see that... but as for the cooling airflow.. the only thing I can see any practical use for that.. is of course in vid. game controllers.... I have one for my seXBOX.. friggin this is awesome..
Ugh, Logitech just needs to come out with an Air Flow mouse and be done with it. Every time someone comes out with a peripheral feature, logitech goes and does it better. I'm waiting for the optical wireless pistol-grip airflow tilt-wheel 17 button non-stick trackball with universal plugs and drivers.
Only from Logitech, best damn peripheral company ev0r.
well.. I've been eyeing the Logitech MX500 or MX510... they're a little pricey.. but there are sites you can find it in the $30.00-$40.00 range.. but as far as features.. I'm pretty sure my current dying optical mouse won't beat the track speed of any of the newer mice out there.. and these 2 have all the feautres I utilize on my IME now.. so I'm probably gonna go w/ 1 of the 2
go for it. i have the 700 and its the best mouse i have ever used. i bit heavy so if you go for the 500 or the 510 it is lighter (no batteries) good ergonomics. and very nice resolution.
I love my logitech TrackMan Marble, myself, and I think I have either another logitech at home or an MS one. But I'm one of these people that love to have a mouse that screws up the general public (you don't 'move' mine around but move the ball with your thumb).
