I mostly use screenshots for win9x and mac's. You know what when I started the screenshots we had at the time were awful, but now that you mentioned it our staff was working to update our "support pages". I took a look now and we have a lot more screenshots/walkthrus then when I started. However, I still like the flow of modemhelp's screenshots, because our company just has walk-thrus not virtuals
I wish I was our knowledge base *lol* I am just glad I catch on quick. I took a single class at the tech before I started working here. The rest I picked up from my bf and I'm learning all the time. Amazingly though rumor is I'm getting promoted to our "business group" :D
Oh, I was hired to the help desk with virtually tech work experience, some msce classes under my belt, and just a lot of random general knowledge. But since I've been on the desk for four years... they know I know how to do at least the help desk stuff. I'm rusty on the regular computer things sometimes, unless I'm in front of it.

Date: 2004-08-20 05:06 am (UTC)virtuals for XP = goes about two screens into whatever you want to look at, then says "refer to your own workstation for further details"
the ironic thing? the majority of the workstations have the "further details" locked out.

Come to think of it, I should really bug my boss for the originals of our help desk manual and update them.
