Date: 2004-08-17 01:27 pm (UTC)In my company, **helpdesk is the /very first/ email address in the global address book. You wouldn't believe the number of people who go to address new ail, hit enter, then proceed to add their recipients... with the helpdesk list as their first recipient. I've gotten quite a few frantic 'Oh my god, I'm sorry!' phone calls from people. (Especially funny was the one when a guy sent the email with pictures of scantily clad women. Fortunately, I don't get offended at all by that sort of thing.)
Even better was the time a temp at our corporate office was sending love notes to her boyfriend/husband -- things like 'baby I miss you so much and can't wait to see you' -- and cc'ing the help desk. Someone finally took pity on her -- after we passed the things around giggling.
