Aug. 10th, 2004 10:14 amThe receptionist at my company is under the impression that I support her home internet service and her cell phone.
All last week she kept bugging me.
Receptionist - "I signed on for the high speed service through NetZero but I still have the Platinum icon on my desktop are they going to charge me for both?!?!?!"
Me - "I don't know but I would call them on that if I were you"
Receptionist - "Can't you help me?"
Me - "I work at ************* ***** I don't work in NetZero billing or Tech Support. I also don't have NetZero at home so I couldn't even make an educated guess as to what they did"
Receptionist - "Oh"
Then throughout the day she keeps mentioning it each time I walk past. If I couldn't answer your question about your personal home internet connection an hour ago I still wouldn't be able to answer it now. :p
The next day she has a problem with her cell phone. I get this voicemail "PLEASE! COME UP FRONT I HAVE A PROBLEM AND IT'S IMPORTANT!" *sigh* I knew it wasn't important since she was involved but I figured I wasn't doing anything anyway so I may as well get the punishment over early on today.
Receptionist - "My cell phone says missed calls but I can't get to my voicemails! This could be an emergency!!!!!!! Do you know why I can't get my voicemails?!?"
Me - "Most cell phones don't work in the building you'll probably have to walk outside to get your messages"
Receptionist - "But . . . I have plenty of signal here."
Me - "Maybe calling Cingular to ask why you can't get to your voicemails is in order then"
Receptionist - "Well I don't want to deal with them"
Me - "Ok but I can't help you, only they would be able to tell you why you can't get to your voicemails if you have a good signal"
I need a shirt that says "I'm not here to help you" And people wonder why I telecommute every chance I get. :p
