Date: 2004-08-05 08:40 am (UTC)Allow me to point out that it says: "IF YOU ARE NOT A TECH REP AND YOU ASK A QUESTION IN THE COMMUNITY FOR HELP WITH YOUR COMPUTER, YOU CANNOT HOLD THE COMMUNITY OR ANY OF IT'S MEMBERS RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR COMPUTER. THIS IS NOT AN ESTABLISHED TECH SUPPORT HELP COMMUNITY. THIS IS FOR THE TECH REPS TO VENT AND LAUGH AND COMISERATE. SO TAKE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR COMPUTER, WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT WE HAVE DISCLAIMED THIS!!!"
This means that we *ARE NOT HERE* to help you. We are here to rant, vent and generally express our displeasure at the world, and at the lusers who we have to deal with on a regular basis.
Next time, read the community information *BEFORE* you post to it.

Date: 2004-08-05 10:17 am (UTC)I did almost the same thing. I bought Jedi Academy, which says it requires Windows, so I installed it (using Cedega) on my Debian box. wouldn't you know that it runs absolutely perfectly under Cedega?
Never believe it when someone says something requires Windows...
Cedega

Date: 2004-08-05 01:00 pm (UTC)Wow.. those are some interests. Just remember that when you are listening to the backstreet boys+celine dion remix you downloaded off kazaa, you cannot masturbate into the floppy drive. I know it may be deceptively named, but it's BAD.
Errrrrk.
assmouth..."My car is running a lot better since i got the oil changed and what not."
And he's gonna build a computer?
Oh yeah, and making fun of someone begging for techsupport is what we're all about, but gay bashing... definately uncool.
EBAY!!!!
Date: 2004-08-05 08:49 pm (UTC)I'll have to move on to the horse porn instead.
I think we can all learn from this. Whether you're gay, straight, a midget in a kilt, black, white, maroon or painted in pink and purple, you can still be a fucking lamer.
THIS GUY IS GOING TO SOMETHING CALLED THE HIGH TECH INSITUTE AND HE CAN'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH PROPERLY.
THIS IS A LOGICAL EXTENSION OF THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION.
ALL YOUR MORON ARE BECOME ALL OF US.

Date: 2004-08-05 10:39 pm (UTC)Either way though I have to say . . . He doesn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the box. His phone number is posted in some open comments. I won't say where but it's on the first page. If he's smart he'll delete that comment soon.
Either way leave him alone. Call me a bleeding heart but I just don't think that was necessary. Lordy would you beat your child if they spilled milk?

Date: 2004-08-06 01:30 am (UTC)Presumably if this person can write... they can read. If they don't read the rules... tough luck. It does have a warning in it for posts like this. If poster chooses to ignore this then... what happens in this post is entirely their fault.
I don't agree with going to people's personal journals because what a person writes in there is allowed to be as idiotic as they want to be but hey, these are techs we're talking about here. Vindictive against stupidity as hell 8-p
