I doubt I spelled it right.. but is it just me or do ALL of those computers suck? Literally ever one i've come across has had caps that have either bulged, leaked, or literally exploaded. I mean where the hell do they get the boards from? Its no surprise that horrid company went out of business..

Computer Rennaissauce?

I think you mean Computer Renaissance.

Some of them do suck. I used to work for one of them that sucked far less than most because it was run by an honest man. I quit before the whole leaky caps thing hit the fan, but I know we were very picky about what used boxes we'd buy.

AFAIK, it's still in business. CR is a franchise and they are all independently owned and operated.

nonetheless, the very store I worked for had a site created in its honor by a rather dissatisfied customer asshat.

www.ComputerRenaissanceSucks.com (http://computerrenaissancesucks.com/)

really, we bent over backwards and gave that guy back every dollar he spent, and he's still spewing bullshit. We aren't the first place he's done it to either

Motherboard go boom.

BTW, about motherboards and other gear with leaky caps:

No one had any way of knowing those caps were bad. They were made with a stolen incorrect chemical formula by a bootleg company, marked to look just like known good brands and everyone got screwed... Apple, IBM, Intel, ABIT, Gateway, all of 'em.

I've replaced boards from very cheap and very high quality machines due to popped caps.

Chances are all of the CR branded boxes you are looking at were all built with a bad batch of boards.
