4 Techs supporting over 550 clients all in the College/University and B&I arena..

anyone else see something wrong w/ this..?

Clients are getting a little tired of the 3-4 hour call back times..

yeah... back to the trenches I go..

1 tech and an intern handling the entire campus (300+ computers and 200+ faculty members.)

yeah
come fall when there actually students here, ill be thanking god that iwas but the lowly intern, and not dealing with that problem anymore.
Although, i almost feel bad for the single IT person. Maybe ill stay on for work-study.

well where i work we have 12 reps, about 1500 acounts with anywhere between 1 and 20 work stations each, plus about half of those accounts have 2 or even 3 or the different software products from us, so yeah everyday sucks. And yes often they will wait 3 hours, not much I can do, as I often say to my supervisor I can only be talking to one person at a time.

We're about to transition from having default logins in the student labs to having personalized logins where each student can go to any campus and log in without having to know their context, mappings, etc. I'm the only tech on my campus of 135 machines / 2 labs. I work 19.5 hours a week so they don't have to pay worker's comp, unemployment or insurance on me. It's that damn .5 hour that changes everything. The employees are generally cool though. Students suck.

You have 3-4 hour callback times? Ours were anywhere from 'later in the day' for critical issues to 'sometime next week' for non-critical ones.
