Why is it that good techs still have to muddle through the shit of helpdesk or dumb fuck first line techs.(i know there are many good ones out there but i must be calling the wrong places) I just spent 2 and a half hours dealing with HP's online support and the final answer was " ....call out HP Services Technical Support as: 1800...."

IM ONLINE TALKING TO YOU YOU DUMB FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!!! YOU KNOW MY PROBLEM IS WHAT IT IS SO FIX IT!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for my rant.

SBC did that to me once too. Thankfully the problem was trivial so I didn't bother calling

Dell on the other hand called ME when there was a problem the online tech couldn't diagnose over a chat room. Now that I loved.

<3 warm fuzzy feeling

Now *that's* support. And you don't even have to pay to talk to Dell >=D
Hewlett Packard on the other hand...

"No, I'm not paying you 40$ to tell me what chipset this POS proprietary board has on it."

Hell I had a sbc tech that was here cuase their modems are junk. Anyway, he saw how the house was wired and pretty much decided not to trouble shoot the modem but blame it on wiring. Granted I admit the wiring is a cluster f***, but the modem works and not works? Please! So I made him plug the modem into the box outside where they guarantee service to and test. Lookie there smart ass, yes your modem is crap gimme a new one.

It pays to know how to tell the tech how to do stuff sometimes, othertimes it is worth hanging up and getting another one.
