A nice ego boost is to hear a user say, "Yes!" in the background when you give your name at the beginning of a call.

Apparently I do the job in 5 min that took the clients last ISP 3 days to do.

Another really big ego boost, is when you've talked to someone. They hung up on you thinking you didn't know what you were doing. Then they call back in and get referred to you as the only one that can fix them by your manager's manager!
