Listening: it does a tech good.
Jun. 16th, 2004 09:11 amI just had the following conversation with a user:
Her: Hi, I got the as400 installed on my pc, but I'm waiting for my access still to the system.
Me: Well, I think I saw that form as completed, let me check. ... Yes, it looks like it was done.
Her: Well, I got the program installed.
Me: Well, you should have gotten an email when it was completed if you filled out one of them yourself. Did you get one?
Her: Yes.
Me: OK, then you've got access. Your user id and password are both going to be your user id.
Her: I tried that, It's not working.
Me: Same thing, both user id and password. They're totally separate systems.
Her: Oh! Use my user id as my password?
Me: Yes.
Her: So what's my password?
Me: The same as your user id.
Her: It's not working.
Me: (checking, on a hunch) OK, you've got yourself disabled.,.. there you go, try again.
Her: It's not working
Me: *user id*, *userid*?
Her: Oh, there it goes!
