We recently blocked lots of shit on our mail servers, as such the phone calls are back to back to back and ALL of them want me to search through the logs. The mail logs are back up to upwards of 2 gigs and taking an eternity to load. I have like 8 queue windows open and the e-mails are flowing in like crazy. I am expected to handle 30 cases tonight I have finished 7 - it's halfway through my shift. Fuck. I am soo stressed right now it is not even funny. I hate e-mail, especially e-mail from our customers. Its time for a Jose Quivero, Sandals, and the beach.

I feel your pain.

I got put in charge of releasing email when it was caught by our spam filters once. This involved logging into a terminal server, and openign this god-awful slow-loading POS program to look at the quarantine logs. It liked to crash. A lot. Frequently /right/ when you found the email you were searching for but before you could release it.

Thank god we switched to a spam-filter that requires the users to make the decisions. (Nevermind half of them didn't bother to read the 10 emails we sent out on it.)

I feel your pain. Yesterday we had a dictionary spam attack against our servers. But here's the kicker, it didn't come from a specific ipadress or range nor did it have the same domain as sender.

So there is no really good way to stop it.

So instead of the usuall 3000 mails in our mailque we had 40 000, needless to say it slowed our server down to a crawl and delayed our customers mail for 30min -1 hour.

Yay! If I can get the fuckhead who made the spammingsoftware that uses multiple open-relays and switches sendingnames between each sending I would ****** with the ***** up his ******!
