[identity profile] punkygoat.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] techrecovery
A bit ago, someone posted about how XP SP2 would find pirated copies and shut em down like a brothel that doesn't believe in bribing. Will the normal automated updates, which you can postpone for 3 days in the menu, download SP2?

Thanks, guys.

Not as far as I know.

I don't think SP2 will be listed as a "Critical Update"

SP1 wasn't... was it?

I'm sure it WILL be listed as a Critical Update, considering how much it really does improve the security of XP.

But don't worry, M$ has backtracked a little on the cd-key restrictions in SP2. IF your key let you run SP1, it will run SP2. Same as SP2 RC1 and previous builds.

FYI, I posted the original info about the SP2 key blocking.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure. I should really try it out with the latest build, but the last one would install all nice and dandy, then ask you to activate when you rebooted. Of course, the answer is out there, and I'm sure keygens are too.

hey, can you send me the link of the original info post for SP2? I read it before but I can't seem to find it again.

Thanks.

Of course you have nothing to worry about because you are using a legal and licensed version of XP, right?
