BellSouth should NOT be allowed to sell internet access to people with a southern accent. Moreover, people with a southern accent and resonating amount of stupidity should not legally be able to own a machine with more than two transistors.

This lady, and I use the term rather loosely calls me up because the phone system said something that remotely sounded like webpages and so she pushed the button. Her problem - pogo.com was returning an error, the lady who she wanted to play a game with e-mailed her and wanted to chat so she sent her a link to download MSN messenger. This put the customer into sensory overload. Men and Women who cannot engage in common sense and basic learning and thought processes should be sterilized and any offspring should be shot in the head. It's time to whip out the Chainsaw of Natural Selection +3 and take that shit to the streets.

After I hear Bill-Jo Dot Ann Bella Smith rant on about pogo.com for a good 5 minutes I let her know that this department doesn't support anything she has just been ranting about, I then let her know that the only other department that would speak with her (Dial-Up Support) doesn't support anything she has been ranting about. I then sent her to howstuffworks.com and told her to type in internet in the box. I then hung-up on her. If I thought I could get away with it, I would kill every stupid person I came in contact with and their children. The world is overpopulated with the Wrong kind of people, let's thin out the herd some.

I feel your pain. I deal with senior citizen women using computers for the first time ALL DAY LONG.

However, my Southern accent & I take exception. We feel it has to do more with the actual stupidity rather than the accent, and that the two are NOT inter-related. ^__________^ Ahem. In ALL cases, anyway...

ill have to agree with the southern accent bit. i have had some poeple who were very bright that were fron the south. i have even had some on the line. and aside from one lady useing the excessive use of "hun" and "do what now" the call was rather painless.

I've also had some real idiots who had absolutely NO accent whatsoever. The ratio of idiots to intelligent folks I get in New Mexico seems to be abnormally high, for some reason. Maybe I've just got crap for luck.

I think the real delineation is not the accent, it's the clear knowledge that you're speaking to a person who pays for their Web hosting on their phone bill. Or, in this poster's case, that they're speaking to a person who pays for Internet services on their phone bill but isn't bright enough to complain to the right *company*...

YES. IT IS. I usually try not to lump everyone together, but NO ONE I DEAL WITH gets angry as quickly as people from New York state. They take everything as condescending and insulting, including when I say "Ma'am" or "Sir". e_e My NY customers are the only ones I routinely want to stab.

However, I feel compelled to mention ONE of my customers in Albany. She has never gotten that way with me, and she's all sweetness & light all the time. Exception to every rule, ne?

Albany is upstate; and the people up there are different than the down staters & the one in NYC? Weird, but there is an invisible line around westchester (at least when I lived upstate) that divides the two. This might have changed since, with all the city folk moving up to the 'country' to retire & open their own pizza place.

better solution. let social darwinism take the reinst and remove ALL warning labels from everything. If you cannot figure out that bleach is not good for you or a high voltage box from the power company running enough power to cook a rhino is something not to be dinked with then you should be removed from the gene pool. I say let their own stupidity thin the heard and help ease overpopulation.
