CUSTOMER: I reduced the picture to 320 x 400 pixels, but the program says it's too big

ME: Ma'am, the file restrictions are up to 70 KB, how big is the picture?

CUSTOMER: I already told you, 320 x 400 pixels!

ME: No no no, how much space does the picture take up?

CUSTOMER: what do you mean?

ME: What is the file size of the picture?

CUSTOMER: Damnit, I already told you! 320 x 400 pixels! I want to speak with your supervisor!


Took my poor TL a good 45 minutes to get this bitch off of the phone.

I loved having supervisors who would refuse to take calls unless you'd done the basics. So we could say, "Sorry, madam, my supervisor will refuse to take the call from me unless I can obtain that information from you. I'll just go and ask him ... Yes, he refuses until we can get the information ..."

this is why I so enjoy doing tech support at a university: no phone work. I just walk to the computer in the building and do it myself or have it dropped off. I don't need to explain anything to the customer. That makes life so much easier.
